As in anything in life, the feeling of comfort and security is vital for your long term existence on the planet. As long as you hold comfort as a basic tenet then you can make it .
Food and water and shelter are the necessities. Internet accesss, cable, cell phones etc are all luxuries.. The Ingalls family didn't have them and yet they thrived. Why cant we. We can..
While Trash is grateful to be able to have these "luxuries" and provide them for the stead.. If times got tough we could/ would do with out them as we have other things to keep us busy in comfort.
